Overview & Responsibilities:-
Eisai, one of Japan’s leading pharmaceutical companies, is enjoying a period of significant growth in the UK and Europe including investment in a £100M European Knowledge Centre in Hertfordshire due to open in the Spring of 2009.
With full support from the Board of Management, Procurement has made significant progress in identifying innovative suppliers and services, implementing new ways of working, and delivering value for money across the UK organisation and its Affiliates. 2009 will see the Procurement remit extending across Europe.
As a result, Eisai is looking for a special kind of Procurement Category Manager to join the existing team. Someone who will relish the opportunity to operate at pace across a broad range of expenditure categories, whilst developing and implementing current best practice Procurement processes and strategies in a rapidly changing organisation.
Able to work independently or as part of a team, you’ll know how to handle the rigorous demands of a blue chip company and possess the influencing skills that will allow you to succeed in a green field environment.
To succeed in the role you will need an eye for detail, experience of managing cross-functional teams, and the ability to identify and implement breakthrough solutions for Eisai’s business operations. A CIPS qualification and a pharmaceutical Procurement background would be an advantage; first-class communication, negotiation and supplier management skills gained in a blue-chip environment are essential.
