Overview & Responsibilities:-
Within the Procurement team an experienced buyer is required to work in the purchasing cost area across various commodity groups including; Cast forged & machinery; Press; Interior & exterior plastics and trim; Electrical; Functional i.e. braking, suspension. You will be instrumental in commercial and business issues and cost strategy deployment and project completion.

• Achieve annual cost reduction requirements
• Development, approval and execution of purchasing strategy for parts and suppliers.
• Supplier selection and contract implementation
• Effective project management for various new model, mass production and business projects.
• Liaising with technical engineers to gather project requirements
• Excellent supplier management including financial and risk assessment
• Cost and investment analysis of parts quotations and targets
• Experienced as a buyer in the purchasing cost area. Ideally from Automotive OEM / Tier 1 supplier
• Proven experience in high volume manufacturing
• Have a proven history of procurement in a commercial role
• Ideally degree, HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or manufacturing related subject.
• Excellent negotiation and benchmarking skills
• Highly analytical and highly professional working standards
• Be a strategic thinker and have excellent analysis skills
